Dr Esther Flanagan

Dr Esther Flanagan is a chartered Clinical Psychologist and has worked in Clinical Psychology for over 6 years. She has designed and implemented psychological treatment packages to help with issues such as chronic pain and is experienced in consulting to organisations to effect psychological change. She regularly contributes to research and academic papers.

Esther works with young adults and adults with a range of difficulties, including managing chronic health conditions, anxiety and phobias, low mood, low self-esteem, sexual health, and relationship problems. She uses a range of different treatment approaches, primarily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Narrative approaches.

Esther is a member of the British Psychological Society, the Division of Clinical Psychology and a Chartered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Positions Held

Esther completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London. She previously ran a national programme at a leading healthcare charity implementing emotional support strategies for healthcare staff.

She works part-time in private practice with young people and adults at My Pain Ltd and at the 55 Queen Anne Street practice. Esther also currently leads projects for Nesta, an innovation charity supporting frontline staff to improve healthcare services and motivate people to change their behaviour through psychological techniques.

Esther also treats young people and adults experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. This includes difficulties such as depression, anxiety, stress and phobias, OCD, low self-esteem, relationship problems and sleep difficulties.
